Table of Contents

So you’ve been sewing for a few years, maybe even a few decades. You’ve developed unbelievable skills with a sewing machine, creating beautiful clothes, quilts, embroidery projects, or many other possibilities. Maybe you’ve been using the same sewing machine for the past few years. Are you feeling like you’ve outgrown it and you’re ready for something new? You’ve put the time in, you’ve learned the skills, you’ve mastered your craft. It’s time for the ultimate splurge for one of the most beautiful machines there is. Viking sewing machines are one of the most beautiful and versatile machines you can get. They’re packed full of features that will allow you to create virtually any project you can dream up in that pretty head of yours. We’re here to do some Viking sewing machines reviews to help you with your purchase!

Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 930

If you’re looking for the Cadillac of sewing machines, you’ve found the one. This machine is an absolute beauty, designed with a talented and experienced seamstress in mind. One of my personal favorite things about this machine is how sleek and well thought-out the functions are. It’s a complex machine but with a bit of time invested, you can quickly learn. It’s user-friendly and the design makes sense, which is a breath of fresh air compared to many machines I’ve used in the past that are not as easy to use and understand.

Favorite Features of This Viking Sewing Machine

There are so many amazing features, where to begin?

Some machines feel cramped to the right of the needle, not having enough space to fit a project through or even for your hand to move around freely while guiding the fabric. You won’t have that problem with this machine. There’s lots of space for movement, making your sewing go much quicker!

There’s a Sewing Advisor feature that will set your stitches, thread tension, and techniques for you automatically. This is done based on what your project is. You can also give it default settings if you have a favorite go-to that you use every time.

The Husqvarna Viking Sapphire 930 is outfitted with the Exclusive Sensor System technology. This feature senses for fabric texture and thickness and adjusts your needle height so you can easily feed fabric without manually changing the feed area. How cool is that?! I’m telling you, this machine is so dang smart.

This machine has 200 pre-programmed stitch options and a start/stop function that you can use if you’re sewing a large amount of fabric and need to continue sewing without pressing on the foot pedal. This feature is particularly handy if you’re quilting or something like that where you’re sewing for long periods of time. I don’t know about you, but my foot gets tired after hours of the same up-down motion of using the foot pedal.

Learning Viking Sewing Machines

If you are intimidated about the amount of features this machine offers, don’t be! The owners manual is extremely thorough and well-written. Brew yourself a cup of coffee and sit down with the machine and the manual. You’ll be surprised how quickly you pick up how the features work. Also, many sewing supply shops hold classes on Viking sewing machines, to walk you through how to use the machine. If you don’t want to deal with the manual, taking a class would be a great option for you. It could also be a really fun to meet some new friends and trade ideas for new projects to work on! I love picking other women’s brains on what sort of things they make, to give myself a new challenge and inspiration.

This machine is truly a total dream-boat of a sewing machine. I’ve always been interested in seeing if Viking sewing machines are really as great as the reviews I read on them. I can tell you honestly, they are the whole hot fudge sundae with a cherry on top! If you’re looking for something to kick your sewing up a notch, this is the machine for you!
